Prajakta Potnis’ Open Studio at Studio Voltaire, Clapham on Saturday 20 - Sunday 21 September, open 11:00-18:00 each day.
During her residency in London at Studio Voltaire, Potnis has explored the kitchen as a site of inquiry, tracing the emergence of post-war community kitchens and following their histories into the present. Her research reflects on how food aid has evolved, mapping the networks through which meals and resources circulate across the city. This inquiry has informed a new body of work across drawing, sculpture and film, considering aid, philanthropy, nutrition and the labour of an overworked, fragile body.
On Sunday 21 September, 15:00, Potnis will also be in conversation with editor and researcher Vasundhara Mathur discussing how her practice and areas of research have been shaped by her time in London.
Potnis is the second recipient of the LOEWE FOUNDATION / Studio Voltaire Award year-long residency.
