The Indian Highway exhibition, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Julia Peyton-Jones, (Directors, Serpentine Gallery) and Gunnar B. Kvaran, (Director, Astrup Fernley Museum) began its journey at the Serpentine Gallery, London in 2008. The show is in the form of a road movie, adding new components and dynamics at each point. After London, Oslo (Astrup Fernley Museum) and Herning (Herning Museum of Contemporary Art), the fourth chapter of the exhibition, curated by Thierry Raspail at Lyon presents a panorama of contemporary art in India with more than 30 participating artists.

Sarnath Banerjee and Hemali Bhuta make their debut in the Indian Highway in Lyon. Banerjee presents a new series of drawings revolving around the idea of post liberalised India, Bhuta creates a large scale site specific installation titled Growing made of incense sticks. Tejal Shah showcases her photographic series titled Hysteria - Iconography from the Salpetrier Series. These works are in addition to her video I Love My India which was exhibited in Indian Highway in London.
