MAXXI - National Museum of XXI Century Art, Rome 22 September – 29 January 2012
The Indian Highway exhibition, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Julia Peyton-Jones, (Directors, Serpentine Gallery) and Gunnar B. Kvaran, (Director, Astrup Fernley Museum) together with Giulia Ferracci, Assistant Curator MAXXI Artepresents a panorama of contemporary art in India with more than 30 participating artists. The exhibition is an itinerant collective show, adding new components and dynamics at each point. After London (Serpentine Gallery), Oslo (Astrup Fernley Museum), Herning (Herning Museum of Contemporary Art) and Lyon (Lyon Museum of Contemporary Art) the fifth chapter of the exhibition, will take place at MAXXI - National Museum of XXI Century Art, Rome. This is the first time that an Italian museum has undertaken such a vast investigation into contemporary Indian art practices.
