Harkat@Sarai is a newly-instituted series of experimental and performative events organized and hosted by Sarai.
Neha Choksi’s Close (the distance) furthered her interest in issues of presence. The artist was very present and had her body available, this time not for petting, but for inking. People chose which part of the body to hide under the ink and to reveal by making a print from the inked portion. In addition to thinking about something they have left unsaid, the participants were enjoined to mail the artist’s body-prints inked on government-issue manila postcards to someone far away.
