Curated by Magda Kardasz, Generation in Transition. New Art from India presents the artworks of a young generation of artists of Indian origin, living and working in India, as well as in America and Europe. It is the first extensive showcase of contemporary art from this region presented in Central Europe in recent years. Sarnath Banerjee exhibits his animation collage Sophistication is Fragile, while Baptist Coelho investigates into the historic ties between Poland and India in his large scale installation, which had a drawing by Indian modernist painter K.K. Hebbar as its starting point. Rohini Devasher’s sound based installation titled We are Starstuff is a chronicle of people whose lives have been transformed by the night sky.Tejal Shah screens her video Feed/ Kill.
